No peace in South Asia without Kashmir settlement

London, March 17, 2019 (PPI-OT):India has forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the will of Kashmiri people and peace in the South Asian region is impossible without giving the Kashmiris’ their inalienable to self-determination.

These views were expressed by opposition leader in the AJK Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement International, Raja Najabat Hussain, Raja Faheem Kayani, Raja Zubair Iqbal Kayani, Chaudhry Muhammad Azeem and others while addressing a protest rally outside the Indian High Commission in London.

They said now the world is taking the Kashmir dispute more seriously and holds India responsible for the prevailing tense situation with Pakistan. They said they were trying to find out an acceptable solution of the Kashmir dispute because the people of Kashmir are peace-loving and civilized and have chosen a democratic way for securing their rights.

They said India has arrested many Hurriyat leaders and activists in the occupied territory who are languishing in different jails of India and Kashmir. They said Kashmiri political detainees are not being provided basic rights including medical treatment. They said that due to the lack of fundamental amenities the detainees are losing their health with each passing day.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Self Determination Movement International, Raja Najabat Hussain thanked the people for participating in the protest demonstration and said that they would raise their voice at every political and democratic forum to highlight the Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir. The demonstrators on the occasion had raised the banners and placards inscribed with slogans against India and in favour of freedom. They also raised high-pitched anti-India anti-Modi and pro-freedom slogans.
