Srinagar, July 24 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that no force can suppress the sentiment of Kashmiris for freedom and vowed that the people would continue struggle for right to self-determination till success.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a gathering in Srinagar said that the aggression against the genuine public leadership would in no way force Kashmiris to give up liberation struggle. He added if the current political onslaught on common Kashmiris continued, it would have dangerous consequences in the region.
He said that India had used its military might to suppress the voices of Kashmiris but it would never succeed in its sinister designs. He, however, warned that genuine struggles neither be silenced on gunpoint nor any Indian effort could mitigate the disputed status of Kashmir.
He said that Pakistan and India take meaningful steps for the lasting resolution of Kashmir dispute. He said that the Line of Control (LoC) should fade away and people should be allowed to move across both the Kashmir. He stressed that travel documents should be made easy to facilitate easy movement, adding, it would add to the CBM’s between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the APHC media head, Shahid-ul-Islam in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the house arrest of Zafar Akbar Butt and described his arrest as well as the other Hurriyet leaders as frustration of the authorities.
He also denounced the arrest of youth across the Valley during raids and added that Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom would not be affected through such cheap tactics.
