No Favouritism, Liquefied Natural Gas import to be conducted in a fair and transparent manner

Islamabad: Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources and OGRA is in the process of consultations with all the stakeholders for liquefied natural gas (LNG) import. Secretary Petroleum Mr. Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhry has said that the impression being created about favouring one party for LNG import is baseless and completely wrong.

The 3rd Party Access Rules for LNG import are also being circulated and discussed jointly with all the stakeholders by the ministry and OGRA. Policy of “1st Come, 1st Serve’’ would be followed and the entire process of awarding license would be transparent. Secretary Petroleum said that all parties applying for LNG import would be treated equally and the award process will be based on merit.
