Srinagar, March 21, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have booked at least nine persons including four Hurriyat activists under black law, Public Safety Act (PSA) and were shifted to Kotbalwal Jail in Jammu. All the nine people were arrested during nocturnal raids in the past one month.
Those booked under PSA include Hurriyat activists, Imtiyaz Haider, Tashoq Ahmed, Ghulam Muhammad Misgar and Muhammad Yousuf as well as a government school teacher and Jamaat-e-Islami leader, Arshad Ahmed. After being booked under the black law, all the nine persons have been shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.
The family members of Imtiyaz Haider told media men that he was released a few days ago and was rearrested on Sunday. He was subsequently booked under PSA and shifted to Jammu Jail, they said.
The family members of Arshad Ahmed said that they were waiting for his release but were shocked to know that he had been booked and shifted to Jammu jail under PSA. “There is no case against him. Police booked him for offering funeral prayers of a martyred youth. He is village Imam and leads all funeral prayers in the area, what is crime in that?” asked Tufail Ahmed Das, the brother of Arshad Ahmed. Arshad, according to family, was posted at government higher secondary school in Zainpora area of Shopian.
