Karachi, October 28, 2014 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Information, Archives and Local Government Mr. Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that following the warning that severe tropical Cyclone, named Nilofar precautionary measure have been taken. In the entire coastal belt of Sindh high alert have been declared. This he said while addressing in the Sindh Assembly about the warning of Nilofar cyclone on Tuesday.
He said that high alert have been declared right from Karachi, Thatta, Badin and Nangarparkar. The casual leaves of all the concerned officials have been cancelled and no such application would be entertained till the looming large natural calamity is over.
He said that the Sindh government was in constant touch with Metrological department. “According to Met office the tropical cyclone brewing in the Arabian Sea have turned into severe cyclone. Therefore, we have informed the fishermen fishing in the high sea through Maritime Security and wireless radio to come back to the coast,” he disclosed.
Sharjeel Memon further said that the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah held an emergent high level meeting of all the concerned officers to review the precautionary measures taken in view of the cyclone warning. The Commissioner Karachi and Commissioner Hyderabad have also been directed to be vigilant.
