New schools/colleges needed in capital due to increase in students’ strength: Minister of State Usman Ibrahim

Islamabad, October 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): Minister of State Barrister Usman Ibrahim of Capital Administration and Development Division chaired the meeting regarding the progress report of change of evening shift to morning shift at CA and DD today.

As promised evening shift in IMCB (H9) and IMPC (H8) would be abolished by this Friday on 17th October, 2014, said the Minister of State. On the directives of Minister of State, Director Model Colleges along with the Director Admin and Finance (FDE) visited the institutions to resolve the issue of evening shifts.

Out of 19 institutions, 15 institutions have the space available for the construction of new rooms for the evening shifts’ students. Moreover 5 institutions namely, ICG F6/2, IMCG F6/2, IMCG F7/4, ICB, G6/3 and IMCB F7/3 have also been physically verified to confirm the number of classes/rooms required in them.

Minister of State has given the directives to the officials of PWD to make a PC-I for the new construction. It’s a very big project so we would send a summary to the Prime Minister soon to get the approval of funds required for it, stated the State Minister. Further he added that new schools/colleges are needed in the capital due to increase in the students’ strength here. For this purpose officials are directed to acquire the amenity plots in new sectors (G13 and G14), announced by the CDA.

Meeting was attended by the Additional Secretary CADD, Director Admin and finance (FDE), Director Model Colleges and Assistant Education Adviser.
