Lahore, May 30, 2014 (PPI-OT): New prospects for joint ventures between China and Pakistan have been explored in the fields of Live Stock, Coal and Automobiles. It was disclosed by Mr. Shah Faisal Afridi, President Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a tele-message from China today.
Mr. Afridi, who is currently on a business exploring trip to China, has held multiple meetings with a number of Chinese industrial and commercial groups to explore new opportunities of trade and investment for Pakistan.
He said that Chinese business community was keen to business relations with Pakistan to the optimal level. He was confident that his visit would ensue to the new joint ventures in various industrial sectors including Energy, Automobiles and Live stock.
He welcomed the interest shown by Shandong Ruyi Group in investment and appreciated government of Pakistan for extending all out facilities to the Chinese companies making investment in Pakistan. He said that Punjab government had identified six sites in the province for setting up coal power plants and Chinese group can select any of these locations for coal-based energy projects.
He observed that present government was availing of the Chinese economic cooperation in the best possible way to overcome the economic crisis prevailing in the country especially in the energy sector. He said that the on-going Chinese investment in Energy, Textile, Agriculture and Education sectors had started bringing fruits by filling in the supply gaps as well creating ample job opportunities in Pakistan.
He paid special tributes to the Chinese group Shandong Ruy 1 who has invested 200 billion rupees for the establishment of Textile Industrial park in M-3 Industrial estate. This project would create jobs for more than 35,000 workers; also it would bring huge foreign investment in the textile sector of Pakistan, he said.
President PCJCCI disclosed that exchange of more trade delegations between China and Pakistan have also been discussed with Yantai Chamber of Commerce and Industry during current year, in which the newly identified areas would be transformed into the real joint venture projects.
