Srinagar, December 10, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF), Nayeem Ahmad Khan, has urged the international community and the world human rights bodies to take cognizance of the gross human rights violations perpetrated by Indian troops in the territory. Nayeem Ahmed Khan in a statement issued in Srinagar on the occasion of the World Human Rights Day, today, said that Indian men in uniform had made the life of Kashmiri people a hell.
He said that Indian police were staging the arrest of innocent people including students. “At a time when world is observing Human Rights Day, parents in the disputed region are busy thinking how to get their wards out of police lock-ups,” he said. Nayeem Khan expressed serious concern over the plight of illegally detained Kashmiris in different jails. He said that hundreds of Kashmiri people are languishing in jails only because of their political ideology.
“Keeping people in jails results in a lot of sufferings not only to them but to their kith and kin as well. There are hundreds of instances where parents passed away while their wards were in jails and the detainees could not take part in their parents’ last rites.” The JKNF Chairman demanded unconditional and immediate release of all Kashmiri detainees.
