Srinagar, September 28, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders including Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Hakeem Abdul Rashid, Bilal Siddiqi, Syed Bashir Andrabi and G.M Khan Sopori have hailed the Kashmir-centric diplomatic efforts of Pakistani Prime Minister, Mohammad Nawaz Sharif in New York. The Hurriyet leaders in their joint statement issued in Srinagar said that unresolved KASHMIR dispute was a dangerous situation for South Asia and threat to the lives of millions of people.
Sincere and sustained efforts are needed for its honourable, just and lasting solution in the interest of peace, security and development of South Asia. The leaders reminded members of the United Nations Organization about the commitments made with the people of Kashmir regarding their inalienable right to self-determination through implementation of UN specific Kashmir resolutions for holding plebiscite acknowledged by both India and Pakistan.
They said that Pakistan sincerely affirmed to implementation of UN resolutions and holding of plebiscite but India continued with its unprincipled, unrealistic and obdurate policy of backtracking and ditching on its commitments and promises. The UN is in session and must stress for Kashmir settlement for upholding the purpose, dignity and credibility of the world forum, they added.
The leaders stressed the Kashmir Diaspora to further their diplomatic efforts and plead the legitimate and genuine case of Kashmiri people for their legitimate and birthright to freedom from forced occupation before member nations and make them aware about India’s unabated persecution and oppression on Kashmiri people to suppress their sentiment of freedom and peaceful struggle for realizing it.
