Lahore: Pakistan Navy ship “PNS KHAIBAR” that is on goodwill visit to Saudi Arabia, held a reception at the ship in the port of Dammam, on November 26. The Base Commander of the Jubail Naval base, Commodore Ali M. Zahrani was the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Commodore Ali M. Zahrani said that Pak-Saudi relations are of strategic nature and such goodwill-cum-training visits of naval ships from friendly countries further strengthen their bonds, says a press release received from Jeddah here today.
Ship Captain Alam and the Deputy Head of Mission Akbar Khyam while welcoming the guests on board, highlighted the strategic importance of relations between Pakistan and Royal Saudi navy. They emphasized that such visits are source of strength between the armed forces of both countries.
PNS KHAIBAR was commissioned in Pak Navy in 1993. It is equipped with state of the art Combat Management System, torpedoes and missile. It can also operate an organic helicopter. The ship took part in various deployments and exercises in the country and abroad. PNS KHAIBAR is potent element of Pakistan Fleet capable of fighting in all three dimensions.
