National Transmission and Despatch Company Awards Certificates and Stipends to 121 Engineers of various universities

Lahore, July 27, 2012 (PPI-OT): National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDCL) awarded certificates and stipends to 121 successful young engineers of various leading universities of Pakistan under one month Internship Training Programme. Managing Director NTDCL Mr Naveed Ismail distributed the certificates among the internees at WAPDA house, here today.

While addressing the gathering of young engineers, Mr Naveed Ismail stressed upon the phases of learning and said that process of learning should continue through education, academics and researches with a aim to enhance growth, technical and managerial skills.

Managing Director NTDCL further said that there is no substitute of hard work which should be done intelligently and never take a first job as final. One must sweat for better and higher qualifications. The young engineers are future of Pakistan and your vision should be realistic and achievable, since you have to play significant role in the progress and development of the country.

National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDCL) is back bone of power sector of the country, which is providing great opportunities of learning regarding power planning, designing and construction of grid stations, transmission line and system protection, he added.

Being a engineer, Mr Naveed Ismail advised the internees that they should pick a industry, which has sustainable growth including power and energy sector, oil and gas. where one should spend initial three to five years as part of learning stage and to understand the mechanics of the organization. The vision should based on long term planning of 10-15 years of professional career, he added.

MD NTDCL said that company will revamp the internship programme with more focus and objectivity and examination will be held to check the learning abilities of students. Whereas students obtaining more than 50 percent marks, will only be given internship certificates. He lauded and appreciated Mr Ammar Shakir and Sana Tayyab for obtaining 92 and 90 percent marks during internship programme, respectively.

The NTDCL spokesman said that Mr Naveed Ismail is enjoying a vast experience of handling power sector, has served as CEO KESC, President AES Lalpir and AES Pak Gen along with successful experience of Management of power plants both at abroad and Pakistan.

All General Managers, Chief Engineers and senior officials of the company were also present on the occasion.
