Islamabad, May 22, 2014 (PPI-OT): Heavy Rains in Bosnia and Herzegovina have resulted in catastrophic flooding in major cities and landslides in mountainous regions causing wide spread infrastructural damages with a large population having been displaced.
In wake of floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina the government of Pakistan has extended humanitarian relief assistance for the flood affectees as a gesture of solidarity with the Bosnian people. In compliance with the directives of Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has sent humanitarian relief goods for the flood affectees of Bosnia.
The first flight of a C-130 aircraft carrying relief consignment dispatched today. The consignment included Non Food Items like Tents, Blankets, Mats, Clothing items (jackets, jerseys/uppers, T-shirts, women garments, rain coats) , kitchen sets, sleeping bags as well food items for the affected families.
Chairman NDMA, Major General Saeed Aleem handed over relief consignment to the Bosnian Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Nedim Makarevic at Chaklala air base, Rawalpindi. The Bosnian Ambassador thanked the Government of Pakistan for their support and timely response for the distressed affectees of flood.
