National Disaster Management Authority all set to send Rescue and Relief to Turkey

Islamabad: On the instructions of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has taken the initiative to send urgently needed relief and rescue assistance to the quake affectees of brotherly Islamic country of Turkey.

In this regard the Chairman NDMA, Dr. Zafar Qadir has expressed his condolences to the Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan H.E M. Babur Hizlan on the tragic loss to life and property due to the quake.

He informed the Turkish Ambassador that a team of doctors, surgeons and rescue specialists is ready to be dispatched to Turkey after receiving green signal from the Turkish government. He said that besides other necessary assistance, NDMA has also facilitated a Field Hospital for providing crucial medical help for the victims of the quake.

The two countries share a long history of warm and cordial brotherly relations on official and people’s level and this humanitarian gesture by the government of Pakistan in this hour of need will go a long way in strengthening this historic bond.
