Islamabad, June 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Islamabad Mr. Abdul Aziz Bin Ibrahim Bin Salih Al-Ghadeer called on the Speaker, National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Parliament House, today.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, while talking to the Ambassador, said that Pakistan attaches immense importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia since both the countries were tied in eternal bonds of religion, brotherhood, history and culture.
He said that Pakistan needs to further solidify existing bonds through parliamentary cooperation besides other varied fields. He appreciated the unwavering support of Saudi government to Pakistan as and when required. He asked the Ambassador to convey his good wishes to his Saudi Counterpart Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammad bin Ibrahim.
The Saudi Ambassador congratulated Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on his election as the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan. He appreciated the sentiments of the Speaker and assured his Government’s all-out support to Pakistan in diverse fields. He said that Saudi Shoora was also keen to enhance its cooperation with National Assembly of Pakistan for which Saudi-Pak friendship group has been established. He was confident that fraternal relations between both the countries would further strengthen by frequent interaction between the parliamentarians of both the countries.
The Speaker thanked Saudi Ambassador for his good wishes and said that Pak-Saudi Friendship group already exists in National Assembly and would be activated in coming days. He later presented a souvenir to Ambassador on acknowledgment of his diplomatic services.
