Islamabad, June 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): National Archives of Pakistan (NAP) organized an elaborate 2-day programme to commemorate the International Archives Day in a befitting manner.
Director General NAP, Masood Ahmed gave a detailed briefing to the electronic and print media about the importance and functions of Archives. He also inaugurated an exhibition of rare photographs and historical documents from the invaluable collection maintained by NAP.
National Archives also arranged a quiz competition among students of the leading educational institutions of twin cities. The programme was participated overwhelmingly by various schools and colleges and students evinced enthusiasm and keen interest in the competition.
The students were accompanied by their teachers who appreciated the efforts of the NAP to create awareness among the youth. They also demanded that such programmes should be organized on all national days in schools and colleges.
Siddique Public School, Rawalpindi won the competition while Aysha Lasani Model School, Muslim Town, Rawalpindi stood second. The Director General, NAP distributed shields among the winning teams and also gave individual prizes to participants.
