Karachi, October 16, 2017 (PPI-OT):Sindh Minister for Labour, Transport, Mass Transit and Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has directed the Social Security and workers Welfare Board officials that they should get up their efforts to complete their development projects without further delay for benefits of the workers and their families on priority.
This he said while holding a meeting reviewed the overall progress and performances of the both institutions at SESSI Head office Committee Room here today. Secretary Labour Abdul Rasheed Solangi, Vice Commissioner SESSI Shah Muhammad Shah, Secretary Workers Welfare Board Sindh Asif Memon and other officials attended the meeting.
The Minister Labour Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that construction of 25 bedded hospitals and carried out development works immediately at Ghotki, Sukkur and Nooriabad without further delay. DC Ghotki would be approached to allocate the land for the purpose immediately.
He also directed that Labour colonies would also be taken up for providing all basic infrastructures and rehabilitated them properly. New Labour colonies would be setup at Ghotki and Ghaghar Phattak for which the respective Deputy Commissioners may be approached for the allocation of land immediately. Besides all school and colleges for workers children should also be provided with shortcomings of furniture, necessary machinery and equipments and establish laboratories in these institutions for the maximum facilities to the workers children.
The Minister Labour has also exhorted that universalization of social security scheme should be made for all workers irrespective of gender benefits and facilitating the workers. He has also said that qualifications and degrees of all employees should be verified from respective Universities and Boards, the process must be completed within one month.
Secretary Labour Abdul Rasheed Solangi briefed the Minister Labour about various steps taken for the benefits and facilities so far provided to workers and their families, he informed that Tenders has been advertised in the newspapers and other formalities would be completed in stipulated time. Progress and performance would also be reviewed in next meeting, NO compromise would be made and stern action would be taken against negligent officials in this regard, The Minister warned.
