Myanmar’s Aung San Suu Kyi gets 3 years’ jail for election fraud

A military court in Myanmar has sentenced ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi to a further three years in prison on election fraud charges.

Suu Kyi has now been convicted of 20 years in prison following the military’s overthrow of her government in February last year.

She denies all of the accusations, and the trials have been condemned by rights groups as politically-motivated.
