My-Karachi Oasis of Harmony Exhibition 2013 to be held from 5-7 July, 2013: Siraj Kassam Teli

Karachi, March 26, 2013 (PPI-OT): Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched its 10th Annual International My-Karachi, Oasis of Harmony Exhibition 2013 scheduled to be organized from 5-7 July, 2013 at Karachi Expo Centre.

Siraj Kassam Teli, Chairman Businessmen Group and former President KCCI, speaking at the press conference, stated that Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s My-Karachi Oasis of Harmony Exhibition, since last one decade, is depicting the strong image of Karachi as economic, financial, commercial and industrial hub of Pakistan.

The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has made commendable efforts to portray the real face of Karachi as a peaceful city, having prudent people and pragmatic business community. Despite of internal and external problems confronting to economy, unrest and deteriorating law and order situation, business community of Pakistan in general and Karachi in particular remain steadfast to face the challenges and remove the obstacles impeding the pace of commercial and industrial activities. My-Karachi Exhibition – the flagship of KCCI is playing its role since last one decade to rebuild the true image of Karachi and Pakistan which was purposefully distorted by some western media.
He articulated, “It is gratifying to note that the event has become a tradition for Karachi Chamber, which depicts a vision to promote Karachi as a city of lights, land of opportunities and an ideal business and industrial hub. Ever since 2004, when I started this Exhibition, it is getting bigger and better every year and provides opportunities to promote domestic and foreign trade along with recreation for the families of Karachiities.

The success of the last nine exhibitions is due to overwhelming cooperation and support of business and industrial community in general and Karachiites in particular. I anticipate that the 10th My-Karachi Exhibition will create another milestone.”

He stated that in My-Karachi – Oasis of Harmony as usual, domestic as well as foreign business communities are participating to synchronize their trades. KCCI is certainly playing commendable role to safeguard the interests of business community and benefit them in every way possible.

He also conveyed his compliments to the Governor Sindh and the Sindh Government for extending their support and participation as co-host and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan to recognize My-Karachi as one of the important exhibitions of Pakistan.

He stated that Government’s cooperation and support is an exceptional example of close liaison with the Business and Industrial Community. He also expressed heartfelt compliments to the Diplomatic Corps, international and national participants and supporters of KCCI’s flagship event.

President KCCI Muhammad Haroon Agar stated that the 10th sequel of KCCI’s flagship International “My-Karachi, Oasis of Harmony Exhibition 2013 endorse the success of the regular event to promote commercial and industrial activities.

He said that My-Karachi Exhibition had gained due recognition of national and international exhibitors since last one decade. Vision and prime objective to organize this regular event is to project and promote the true image of Pakistan with all its potentials and strengths in general and Karachi in particular.

He voiced that Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in pursuit of excellence since 1959, has left no stones unturned to become the leading voice of the Karachi business community. Its visionary leadership and undying need to be the primary platform for business concerns is a motivation behind its success. To augment the Pak Exports and to recognize logo “Made in Pakistan” worldwide, KCCI’s My-Karachi, Oasis of Harmony is a regular feature which encourages export-oriented sectors to fortify their potential and utilize this forum to further explore their trade prospects.

Pakistan is blessed with enormous natural resources and we have no dearth of talent and skill to explore the untapped areas. The ambitious plan to achieve $100 Billion exports target in next five years can turn into reality provided the Government accords due importance to facilitate the business and industrial community to enhance exports and bring valuable foreign exchange in the country.

He highlighted that this year, KCCI has designed tenth sequel of “My-Karachi, Oasis of Harmony 2013” exhibition, to expose the great potential of regional trade. We have also planned to organize an International Pavilion and have invited exhibitors from SAARC, GCC, ASEAN and EU countries. The My-Karachi, Oasis of Harmony 2013 will act as an avenue for interactive (B2B) business-to-business linkages and (B2C) business to consumer relationship.

The International Pavilion mainly designed for (B2B) will expose the trade potential products of friendly countries as well as Pakistan. KCCI always encourages women entrepreneurs, as usual this year also women entrepreneurs pavilion will be featured.

He expressed his thanks to the Leadership, particularly Mr. Siraj Kassam Teli, Chairman, Businessmen Group, Office Bearers, Managing Committee of KCCI and Chairman My-Karachi Exhibition for their meaningful proposals and efforts to plan “My-Karachi 2013”. He also conveyed thanks to Sindh Government to support and TDAP to recognize the flagship event of KCCI.

Ismail Surya, Chairman, Karachi Exhibition KCCI said that this year we have reserved all six halls of the Karachi Expo Centre and have planned to exhibit products from all the diversified sectors of the economy and likewise we have invited organizations/ brands from textile, telecommunication, banking/financial, automobile, engineering, halal food, electronics, electrical, telecommunication, carpets, furniture, handicrafts, agricultural value-added sectors.

He said that we have also extended invitations to all the leading Chambers of Pakistan to invite their members to participate in My-Karachi Exhibition. Besides invitations have been sent to all foreign missions in Pakistan and likewise Pakistani missions abroad to disseminate information of My-Karachi Exhibition to interested exhibitors. Special feature would be the International Pavilion wherein participation in expected from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Korea, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and European Union countries.

He said that its our aim, this year, to ensure that over 700,000 visitors and businesspersons to visit My-Karachi Exhibition to shop in style and to develop business connections with local and foreign corporate entities which will ultimately depict real image, prestige and nobility of Karachi and Pakistan.

KCCI has taken special measures to organize the event in more vivid and stylish fashion, having International Pavilion and dedicated halls for MNCs and domestic companies, SMEs and women entrepreneurs. It would be a complete exhibition in all aspects encompassing the interests of corporate sector as well as the consumers while truly representing Pakistan in terms of cultural cross section in a unique urban scenario, he concluded.
