Srinagar, February 08, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police put the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza under house arrest in Islamabad town and raided the house of Chairman of Kashmir Freedom Front (KFF), Syed Bashir Andrabi in Pulwama. Indian police is arresting the Hurriyet leaders to prevent them from participating in different programmes in connection with the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent liberation leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru.
The JKPL spokesman Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi in a statement while condemning the police crackdown on the Hurriyat leaders and activists has termed the action undemocratic and unjustified.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman of Kashmir Freedom Front, Syed Abdullah Gilani in a statement condemned the continued raids on the houses of party leader, Syed Bashir Andrabi and other Hurriyet leaders. He said that the arrest spree showed frustration of the Indian authorities and puppet regime in occupied Kashmir. He paid glowing tribute to Mohammad Maqbool Butt and Mohammad Afzal Guru on their martyrdom anniversaries.
