Karachi, February 09, 2015 (PPI-OT): Mr.AhsanUlHaq,Trade Commissioner, Trade Programme, High Commission of Canada, Islamabad called on a meeting with Dr. Asif A. Brohi, Chairman Sindh Board of Investment, today in his office. Chairman SBI deliberated upon the potential of Sindh province specially in Agriculture and alternate energy sectors like, hesaid, immense investment opportunities in hydral , solar , coal, wind, tidal energy and other sectors where foreign and local investors can tap the resources for mutual benefit.

Chairman SBI emphasized on investment potential of Sindh and invites Canadian community to come and collaborate with Sindh for increasing bilateral trade between both countries. He unleashed that bilateral trade and investment opportunities are vast. We strive to find ways to facilitate these resources for the good of both the countries. Explaining the present status of business he explained that as of today bilateral trade between Pakistan and Canada is does not correspond to depth of relationship of both the countries.

Mr.AhsanulHaq,said Canadian Government is looking forward to be a part of Projects in Sindh and there is a huge investment potential which is immensely needed to be highlighted before the Canadian investors during the Investment delegation visit.

The positive initiatives in terms of business and trade by the Sindh Government are ever welcoming to foreign investors; business chambers should fully indulge themselves to grab the maximum opportunities during this visit, he added. Mr.AhsanulHaq assured welcoming support to the Chairman SBI on behalf of Canadian Government for making visit fruitful for both countries.

On this occasion, Ms. Naheed Memon, Board member of SBI, Muhammad Riazuddin, Director General, SBI, Abrar Shaikh, Director Admin, SBI and Faisal Farooqi, Deputy Director (PRs), SBI were also present.
