Islamabad, October 24, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Provincial Disaster Management Authority Balochistan in a statement has said that in the recent flood/rain, the most affected districts of the Province were Jaffarbad, Nasirabad and Jhal Magsi.
PDMA have started relief activities from 7th September and start dispatching relief items including food items and non food items.
Relief operations from PDMA is continuous and have provided about 9062.28 Metric tons of food items, which includes Rice, Flour, Pulses, Dates, Sugar, Cooking Oil, etc. 236,328 food packets, 11860 tents and 6057 blankets have been dispatched by PDMA till 23rd October 2012.
Moreover, the Federal Government have provided 600 Millions to Utility Stores Corporations, for provision of Ration Bags. So far 43250 Ration Bags have been provided by them, PDMA is facilitating the process by providing transportation for those rations bags.
Furthermore, PDMA is also providing 1460 Metric Tons wheat of worth Rs. 332.640 Millions, to World Food Programme for distribution among in 70,000 flood affected families of Nasirabad and Jaffarbad districts.
