More village heads resign in occupied Kashmir

Srinagar, April 26, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, many village heads have tendered their resignations in Kulgam district in the aftermath of recent killing of a Sarpanch and his son in Tral area of Pulwama. At least 14 village heads including 2 Sarpanchs, 2 Deputy Sarpanches and 10 Panchas announced their resignation in Bogam area of the district.

Those who resigned are Wali Muhammad Koka and Muhammad Masood Sheikh (Sarpanchs), Murshid Lone and Abbas Lone (Deputy Sarpanchs), Maqbool Butt, Afrooza Akhtar, Mubarak Koka, Jamshed Hajam, Fareeda Akhtar, Rehana Bano, Rashid Mir, Shabir Lone, Mehbooba Akhtar and Ghulam Rasool Khan (Panchs).

Seven village heads, who resigned from Sonigam Kulgam include, Abbas Butt (Sarpanch), Ibrahim Paray (Deputy Sarpanch), Haseena Ayoub, Naseema Reyaz, Mudassir Paray and Muhammad Shafi (Panchs). Meanwhile, a Panch from Chhatargam Tral namely Rajindar Singh and a Deputy Sarpanch from Naboog Kund Qazigund, Khurshid Ahmed Wani, also tendered their resignations.
