More Rain/Snow predicted in the country during the coming week

Islamabad, February 15, 2019 (PPI-OT): Met office informed that a strong rain bearing system is likely to enter in the country on Sunday (evening/night) and is likely to persist till Friday.

In the initial phase Rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in northeastern Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Kalat divisions), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad divisions), Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir during Sunday (evening/night) and Monday.

In the final phase this weather system is likely to further intensify on Tuesday evening/night and may persist till Friday. Under the influence of this weather system: Widespread rain-thunderstorm (with few moderate to scattered heavy falls) is expected in Balochistan, while at scattered places in Sindh on Tuesday (evening) to Thursday. While in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir till Friday.

Note: Heavy falls may trigger landslides in Malakand, Hazara, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir and may cause flash flooding in local nullah/riverine of Balochistan and hill torrents of DG Khan on Wednesday and Thursday.
