More monsoon rains predicted from Friday

Islamabad, July 17, 2012 (PPI-OT): Synoptic Outlook:

Monsoon currents are penetrating into north-eastern parts of the country. Seasonal low lies over northwest Baluchistan and adjoining areas with its trough extending southeastward.

Punjab including Islamabad:

Thundershowers are expected at isolated places of Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions from Tuesday to Wednesday. Another spell of light to moderate rains is expected at scattered places of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad divisions from Friday to Sunday.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:

Thundershower is expected at scattered places of Southern KP on Tuesday and from Friday to Saturday. While isolated thundershower is likely over Malakand and Hazara divisions on Tuesday.

Baluchistan:

Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the province. However, light rain/ thunderstorms are likely at isolated places of Zhob and Kalat divisions on Tuesday.

Sindh:

Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the province, however light rain/ thunderstorms is likely at isolated places along Sindh coast towards the end of the week.

Kashmir:

Thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places on Wednesday. Another spell of moderate rains is expected at scattered places with few heavy falls is likely from Saturday to Sunday

Gilgit-Baltistan:

Mainly dry weather likely over during the week. However light rain is likely at isolated places on Thursday.
