Islamabad, November 21, 2012 (PPI-OT): M. Moazzam Ali Khan Jatoi Minister of State (NFS and R) met with the Indonesian Minister for Agriculture here today. Important dignitaries were also present in the meeting.
In the meeting, Minister said that Pakistan can benefit from the experience of Indonesia in the field of coconut and oil palm management. He further added that in the field of coffee, all tropical fruits and vegetables Pakistan wants to share its experience and also want to learn from the experience of Indonesia.
The Minister emphasized on the importance of agriculture in Pakistan and said that it contributes 21 percent to GDP and provides employment to 45 percent population.
For boosting trade ties and friendly relations Moazzam Ali Khan Jatoi offered training facilities to Indonesian scientist and professional on Agricultural Water Management, soil and water quality analysis.
Indonesian Minister also showed his willingness to cooperate and said that bilateral co-operation will further boost agriculture sector in both countries.
