MMM calls for online campaign to seek mortal remains

Srinagar, April 08, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Muttahida Majlis-e-Mushawarat (MMM) has called for online protests to push for the handover of mortal remains of Mohammad Maqbool Butt and Mohammad Afzal Guru to their respective families in Kashmir.

The MMM spokesman in a statement urged people to mark their signatures on the social networking service Facebook namely “Return the bodies of Shaheed Afzal and Shaheed Maqbool”.

“Not only people of Jammu and Kashmir but peace and justice loving people from across the globe will also participate in the online campaign,” the MMM statement said.

“People are being requested to hold demonstrations after Friday prayers all across Kashmir to raise slogans demanding the handover of the mortal remains of Butt and Guru.” the statement read.

While condemning the random arrests of people and slapping of draconian law, Public Safety Act, the spokesman said in future the MMM would continue to issue programs. “We appeal people to follow the MMM programmes in letter and spirit,” he added.
