Srinagar, March 17, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Muttahida Majlis-e-Mushawrat (MMM), a representative forum of pro-liberation organisations, spearheading the movement to seek return of mortal remains of Kashmiri leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru, on Sunday announced a fresh protest calendar for the coming week.
As per the calendar issued after a meeting of MMM in Srinagar, protest demonstrations would be held from Maghrib to Isha prayers on Monday (March 18) during which slogans like “Naara-e-Takbeer Allah-o-Akbar” and “shuhada ke ajsaad wapas karo” would be raised.
On Tuesday, the students would hold protest demos in their respective colleges and universities amidst slogans “Naara-e-Takbeer Allah-o-Akbar” “Ham kia chahte Azadi” and “shuhada ke ajsaad wapas karo”.
On Wednesday, the Indian civil society members and human rights activists would protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and would raise demand for return of Kashmiri leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru from Tihar Jail to their families.
On Thursday, complete blackout would be observed from Maghrib to Isha prayers.
On Friday, imams of mosques would present a resolution regarding the MMM programme before the people and would get endorsement from the people. Besides special prayers would also be held.
On Saturday, complete strike would be observed to press for demand to return the mortal remains of Kashmiri leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru from Tihar Jail and against the illegal house arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Muhammad Yasin Malik and continued detention of Shabbir Ahmad Shah and his shifting to Kotbhalwal Jail, Jammu besides arrests and crackdowns on Kashmiri youth by the authorities.
