Srinagar, May 20, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, body of a missing teacher was recovered near Wullar Lake in Bandipora district, today. The body of Mushtaq Ahmad Lone (29) was spotted by locals from Laharwapora near Wullar Lake in the district. He was missing from Sheikhpora Mantrigam in Bandipora district for the past one week.
The family members of the deceased teacher said the day Mushtaq went missing his phone was found turned off after he left home for duty to Government Higher Secondary School Chuntimulla and did not return home. “After we failed to trace him, we logged a missing report in Pathkoot police station,” Mushtaq’s family members said.
“We demand probe into the death of our son as we have apprehension that he has been murdered,” they said. Meanwhile, the incident triggered protests in Mantrigam area of Bandipora district. People staged protests, demanding punishment to the culprit involved in the murder of the teacher.
Later, the protestors marched from Mantrigam to Bandipora and sought speedy investigation into the incident. On the other hand, Indian police used brute force and vandalized properties of people during crackdown at Daharmuna in Budgam district.
Indian forces raided the area in the night and tried to enter into some houses to arrest youths. However, the residents raised alarm, following which the villagers came out and staged protest. The locals said the Indian forces resorted to vandalism and smashed private vehicles and windowpanes of several houses.
Meanwhile, curfew continued on 5th consecutive day, today, in Bhadarwah town while the district administration on Sunday ordered a magisterial probe into the killing of Nayeem Ahmad Shah by VDC members in the town last week.
