Srinagar, November 12, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, condemning restrictions and use of force against people, has described it as the worst kind of human rights violation. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the use of lethal weapons was causing ailments in the territory while the authorities, by imposing restrictions, didn’t even allow victims to seek medical treatment. The use of weapons like tear smoke canisters, and pepper gas has caused different ailments in people.
On top of that, women and children are being held hostage in their houses and stopped from visiting doctors or hospitals, Mirwaiz deplored. He said, “All this is being done to suppress the resilient spirit of the Kashmiri people. The ruling class in Kashmir is deliberately keeping last year’s flood victims economically deprived by imposing restrictions time and again and not allowing them to bounce back and recover from the huge tragedy,” Mirwaiz said.
Meanwhile, the APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s statement of Jamhooriyat (democracy), Kashmiriyat (Kashmiri ethos) and Insaniyat (humanity) in his November 7 speech in Srinagar was implemented by forces in letter and spirit by killing Gowhar Nazir Dar. The spokesman said, “These sacrifices will not be allowed to go waste and the struggle for right to self-determination would continue till Kashmir issue reaches its logical conclusion.”
