Minorities including Christian community are contributing significantly in Islamabad police: Asmat Ullah Junejo

Islamabad, April 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): The personnel from minorities including Christian community are contributing significantly in Islamabad police and have been assigned very important duties in the department as part of effective policing. It was stated by Acting SSP Traffic Asmat Ullah Junejo while addressing the Christian community at a ceremony here on Friday at Islamabad Traffic Police Headquarters, in connection with Easter.

The Christian employees of ITP were especially invited at the ceremony. Acting SSP Traffic, Islamabad and other Christian police officials were also present on the occasion.

“We are with you on this occasion and your duties in Capital force are acknowledged,” the Acting SSP Traffic said. He said there is need to promote interfaith harmony and this ceremony has been arranged with the same purpose.

“All Pakistanis are brothers and there is no discrimination among any of citizen of the country. Minority’s role is greatly acknowledged in the development of the country as they are accomplishing various assignments with great responsibility”, he added.

He said that Christians and people from minorities are performing duties in ITP. Their contribution in making this force as role model for other law enforcement agencies is greatly appreciable, the Acting SSP added.

On the occasion, he also distributed cash rewards and commendation certificates to the Christian ITP employees. The employees thanked Acting SSP (Traffic) and officials of Islamabad police for remembering them in their happy moment.
