Karachi, October 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minister for Minorities Affairs, Social Welfare and Prisons Hari Ram Kishori Lal inaugurated computer lab for Imparting free of cost quality vocational training to underprivileged children at Qasba Colony. The computer lab is set up with the assistance of Karsaz Education and Welfare Organization at Chattari building in the office of Assistant Director Social Welfare Orangi Town Karachi.
Secretary Social Welfare Tauha Ahmed Farouqui, Additional Secretary Social Welfare Essa Memon, Director General Social Welfare Sheema Arif, President Kewo Raihan Rasool, Vice President Kewo Muhammad Jafar Khan, officers and officials of social welfare departments also attended inauguration ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs, Social Welfare and Prisons Hari Ram Kishori Lal said that Qasba colony seen worst law and order situation in past adding that we have to join hands to rebuild our institutes and society as situation of law and order was improved considerably so as to provide quality service delivery to masses at their door steps. He said that he was informed that this building gave deserted look two years back but today turned into impressive vocational training institute with the cooperation of Karsaz Education and Welfare Organization.
Provincial minister appreciated the spirit of Raihan Rasool President Kewo and invited him to collaborate for setting up such vocational centers in other underprivileged areas of province. He said that together we have to steer our country towards the path of prosperity. On the occasion, Provincial minister announced 20 sewing machines for vocational training of girls at center. Secretary Social Welfare Tauha Ahmed Farouqui said that underprivileged areas lacked educational and recreational facilities adding that this center is an impressive addition for imparting quality vocational training in area.
President Kewo Raihan Rasool said that we were planning to set up four more such vocational training centers in Maripur, Momenabad, Baldia and Site Town in collaboration with social welfare department. Additional Secretary Social Welfare Essa Memon, DG Social Welfare Sheema Arif also spoke, while Deputy Director Social Welfare Karachi West Abida Rehman gave details regarding the performance and future plans. On the occasion children presented tableaus and national songs.
During the ceremony, a group of officials of social welfare department district West informed Provincial Minister that they were serving in social welfare department for more than 30 years as Auxiliary Workers in grade six with no further promotion and requested for resolving their issue. Provincial Minister assured auxiliary workers for resolving their matter as per law and on the spot directed Secretary Social welfare Tuaha Ahmed Farouqui to examine their matter and resolve it at the earliest.
