Islamabad, December 26, 2012 (PPI-OT): December 27 is a day which revives the bitter memories of a gruesome incident of Pakistan’s history when the nation was deprived of a leader of international stature, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, said Federal Minister for Housing, Sardar Talib Hassan Nakai.
The Minister said that we remember her as a statesperson, political leader of the highest order and an intellectual who made the ultimate sacrifice for safeguarding the rights of the people. Mohtarma propounded the theory of reconciliation and believed that it is the perfect solution to avoid clash of civilizations and promote democracy, the Minister added. He further said that the seeds of reconciliation sown by her are now bearing fruit.
Today, the country is faced with numerous daunting challenges at different levels. We can overcome these if we follow the vision and ideas of such great leaders like Mohtarma, the Minister said.
He said she was the leader who worked incessantly to improve the lot of impoverished people and today the nation is indebted to her for guiding the masses out of despair and spreading the message to avoid confrontation, shun parochialism to forge complete unity among their ranks and files.
May Allah Almighty rest her soul in eternal peace!
