Karachi, August 25, 2016 (PPI-OT):Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Muhammad Ali Malkani has said that to ensure the prevention, is the best cure to avoid any viral disease like Congo and others. Tick was not happened in any animal but it will be in younger animals like every mosquito was not and dengue mosquito. This he said while addressing as Chief Guest at Seminar on “Emerging threat on Congo Virus Infection and Eid ul Azha” organized by Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) held at Clifton, Karachi here today.
The Minister Livestock has said that we should all collectively play our due role to avoid the disease. Media has pointed out and highlighted the issue but the traders and buyer are equally discharge their role and ensure the prevention measures. Sindh has by bitten and Pakistan has 20 billion population, it is not possible to cure all the animals in millions but the prevention by everyone avoided such situation.
He said that department though shortage of staff but played an effective role but all other allied department should also play their individual role to control the disease. Animals are travelled from other parts of the country like Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but large number come from Punjab, now the exit and entry points would be set up camps to prevent the disease and spray over animals before reaching in the cattle market.
Expert of various disease especially congo virus, Dr. Farhan Essa, Dr Shahana Urooj Kazimi, Dr. Sajad Hyder Dara, Dr. Syed Noman Ali and Zulfiqar Shaikh of FPCCI and others gave their informative presentations. Participants were replied their questions about the expected / emerging disease of congo virus. While talking to media the Minister Livestock has said that all steps are being taken to prevent the disease at every level. He was visited the twice cattle market superhighway and now he will formally inaugurate the said cattle market today evening. Department took all out efforts to provide free veterinary facilities to the animals.
