Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Population Welfare, Saleem Khan has urged upon the parents to give special attention to the education of their children; and to make no compromise in providing standard education to their children adding that children are the future of the nation; and the dream of national progress cannot be materialized until and unless we provide quality education to all our children specially the females.
He expressed these views while addressing as chief guest at the annual prize distribution and parents day function of Frontier Model School and College in Peshawar on Thursday. He stressed upon the teachers to teach and train the students in line with modern and scientific methodology of teaching so that they could be useful citizens of the country.
While shading lights on the importance of the co-curricular activities Salim Khan said that co co-curricular activities are the important component of education and training being imparted to the children, hence all educational institutions, whether private or public, should pay special attention to these activities.
Referring to the steps of the present government taken for the improvement of the education sector, he said that uplifting of the education sector was one of the top priorities of his government; and as such it has taken some revolutionary steps for the improvement of this sector including the provision of free education up to intermediate level, provision of free books and monthly stipends to female students up to class 7th in public sector school which has helped increase literacy rate in the province considerably while lauding the efforts of Frontier Model School in providing quality education to the public, Khan said that the government highly values the services of the institution which provides quality education in reasonable fee structure to the entire satisfaction of parents. Salim Khan highly appreciated the efforts of the school management in holding such a successful and magnificent function and assured his all possible support to the institution.
Earlier, students of institution performed various items including tableaus, dramas, PT show, etc and received thundered applauses of the audience.
Addressing the function Principal of the school highlights on the curricular and co-curricular activities of the school. Later on, the chief guest distributed prizes and shields amongst the students with outstanding performance.
