Islamabad, June 08, 2013 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that new Government has taken over the charge and now people will feel good positive change as the government operates.
He said this while addressing the briefing session arranged to brief him about the working, organization, availability of Natural Resources and their allocation to the various sector in the country. Secretary Ministry of Petroleum gave a detailed briefing to the minister on assumption of the charge of the ministry.
The Minister said that the people of Pakistan have voted us with a purpose and they have a lot of expectations. We will try our level best to come up to their expectations. He maintained that Natural Resources will be allocated in the most efficient manner to cope with the energy crisis in the country.
The Minister stated that after the domestic and commercial user the Power Sector is the top most priority as long as gas supply is concerned. “Power Generation is the most efficient use of this scarce Natural Resource”, the Minister noted.
He advised the officer of the ministry to come up with the objective and well thought out work plans and proposals with compete information and data so that these plans and proposal may be made the part of the policy making process.
The Minister also expressed his serious concerns over the unaccounted for gas loss and directed that this issue be addressed at the earliest. He also emphasized on the consistency of the policy and noted that frequent policy shifts harm the interest of the investors and without investment no enterprise can survive. He also said that we will work in close co-ordination with the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Water and Power to resolve the power crisis which is the top most priority of our government.
