Islamabad, March 10, 2014 (PPI-OT): While chairing a meeting regarding delay in completion of G-10 project of Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA), Minister of State for Housing and Works Barrister Usman Ibrahim directed the concerned officials to resume it at earliest. The Minister said that construction work would be resumed within a month and assured the contractor that all the pending bills would be paid soon.
The Minister was perturbed that the above mentioned project was started back in 2008 and 20% is still incomplete just because of the non-payments to the contractor. The Minister directed to constitute a committee to verify the contractor’s outstanding and current bills, and every assured that proposed payment would be paid after the Board of Directors’ approval, so that work would not be hindered in between.
The meeting was attended by Joint Secretary Housing and Works, Managing Director National Construction Limited (NCL), Director General National Housing Authority (NHA), the concerned officials of Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) and the Contractor.
