Islamabad, March 06, 2013 (PPI-OT): A Pakistan Education Atlas project was formally launched today. The project was initiated in April 2010, to improve the dissemination of educational statistics and indicators by using GIS (Geographical information system) technologies.
The project was completed with collaboration of world food programme and the erstwhile Ministry of Education and Training through (NEMIS) and the academy of educational planning and management AEPAM, Islamabad.
The Federal Minister Sheikh Waqas Akram appreciated the efforts of AEPAM and paid special thanks to world food programme. He said that this new system will help us make sound educational planning, monitoring and evaluation. He desired that the system be extended to union council level.
