Karachi, March 16, 2017 (PPI-OT): Minister Planning and Development Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani said that MDGs (Millennium development Goals) 2000 – 2015 remained unachieved due to inconsistent policies and weak institutional structure but present Sindh government is fully committed to achieve the targets set in SDGs (sustainable development goals ) 2030.
It is therefore support unit is being created with the collaboration of UNDP to obtain such targets . This he said while speaking to a seminar Identifying Priorities for Sustainable Development Goals 2030 frame work for Sindh jointly held by UNDP and P and D Sindh .He further added that the eradication of poverty and hunger , provision of basic health facilities , standard education , clean drinking water, energy and environment are the top priorities of Sindh government have been included in SDGs 2030.
Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani told the media that from procedural planning to resource management all necessary preparations to achieve the SDGs have already been finalized by Planning and Development department Sindh . He lauded the role of UNDP for their genuine cooperation and support in various projects . UN resident coordinator Paul Martin renowned Economist Qaiser Bengali Secretary P and D Rehana Memon and many other important figures participated in seminar.
