Metropolitan Commissioner reviews measures for heat stroke management

Karachi, April 21, 2016 (PPI-OT):In view of the forecast of possible heat stroke in the city, the Metropolitan Commissioner Samiuddin Siddiqui has while declaring state of emergency in all KMC run hospitals cancelled leaves of concerned staff. A meeting in this connection was held in the office of the metropolitan commissioner on Thursday which was attended by the financial advisor Rehan Khan, Sr. Director Medical Services Dr. Muhammad Ali Abbasi and medical superintendents and focal person from different KMC run hospitals.

Speaking in the meeting the metropolitan commissioner instructed officials of all KMC hospitals to take all necessary measures regarding management of heat stroke and inform immediately about their requirements. It was informed in the meeting that a total of 40 heat stroke management centres had been setup in 12 major KMC hospitals besides on various locations in the remits of DMCs with the deputation of staff and necessary medicines.

Metropolitan Commissioner directed to provide all facilities to hospitals for heat stroke management in KMC hospitals and in the heat stroke management centres established in the jurisdiction of district municipal corporations. He also appealed to the citizens to avoid going out during the heat stroke wave and take all precautionary measures to save themselves from the heat stroke.
