Karachi, April 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan has directed Sr. Director Veterinary Mukhtar Hussain and other concerned officers to pay a detailed visit to KMC city abattoir in Cattle Colony and review the articles of all contracts made between abattoir administration and KMC and submit a report.
He said this while chairing a meeting of officers of Veterinary Department and Enterprise and Investment Promotion Department. Metropolitan Commissioner said that KMC has given slaughter house situated in Cattle Colony to a private company under a contract of public private partnership and under this contract it was bound to utilize the machines installed in KMC slaughter houses and provide citizens with fresh and healthy meat but private company was unable to follow this in this connection Metropolitan Commissioner has formed a committee which include Sr. Director Enterprise and Investment Promotion Farhan Durrani, Sr. Director Veterinary Services Mukhtar Hussain, Legal Advisor Najam-ud-din Sikandar, Director Finance and Admin Jabbar Bhatti, Director Internal Audit and other officers whereas Chief Engineer Shafique Muhammad Chachar, Mr. Sohail, Director Khalid Hashmi and other high officials would visit along with the committee.
KMC under the contract was paying the electricity bills regularly whereas employees and vehicles were also being used. Metropolitan Commissioner directed committee to prepare a comprehensive report of financial, technical and administrative matters and submit this report during a week.
