Islamabad: Creating and sustaining confidence among peoples across geographical boundaries is critical to global peace and harmony. The World Standards Day, being observed today with the theme “International Standards-Creating Confidence Globally” should serve as a reminder to all that our products and services must conform to international quality standards to create and sustain the needed confidence among peoples and nations.
Let us therefore emphasis today once again the importance of creating awareness among our manufacturers and exporters to ensure quality of products and services by scrupulously adhering to the international quality standards.
I wish to compliment the PSQCA of the Ministry of Science and Technology for playing a lead role in the adoption of international standards and creating awareness of the importance of International Standards. In this task it has rightly involved the civil society and the corporate sector without which it would not be possible to adequately meet the international quality standards.
I hope the observance of the World Standards Day will generate the requisite interest and motivation about the impact of standards in creating and sustaining confidence and thereby promoting peace and harmony globally.
I also hope that it will open new avenues in further sensitizing the community to the importance of ensuring quality in accordance with internationally recognized standards and practices.
