Islamabad: Members of Parliament and Politicians of Vehari called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani in his chamber in the Parliament House today who maintained that the completion of development projects dedicated to the welfare of the people were important and apprise them was equally important. The Karwan-e-Tameer would be the culmination of the same concept and should be pursued with conviction and commitment, they said.
Mr. Ayaz Mir, MNA, during the meeting underscored the importance of the parliamentary system of government and collective responsibility which indeed was the essence of this form of democracy.
The Prime Minister said that he was a keen reader of his articles, those optimized the pieces of writing filled with credibility and empirical investigations leading the reader to reach to the bottom of truth.
The Prime Minister said that people were contemplating to hold meeting in other localities as they were conscious of the extent of erosion of their standing in their own areas. He could only managed a couple of thousands people to address when he came back to his home city to cash on his exist which he believed would trigger wave of sympathy, he added.
The Prime Minister said that the PPP held a mammoth meeting outside Multan which was the biggest public meeting in the history of the city. It spoke in volumes the popularity of the party and endorsement of the people of the pace of the development taking place in the country by the democratic government, said the Prime Minister.
Mr. Abdul Qadir Patel, MNA, in his meeting offered his services to be part of the Karwan-e-Tameer because in a democratic dispensation participation of the people in the planning and implementation stages of the development projects are important because of their positive social impact and also instrumental to invoke the feelings of ownership at the same time.
Mr. Nabil Ahmad Gabol thanked The Prime Minister for providing funds for improving the public transport facilities for the people of Layari. The Prime Minister also approved funds for the increasing the supply of water for the residents of Layari.
Mr. Mumtaz Khan Khichi and Mr. Aurung Zeb Khich, Politicians of Vehari, during their meeting with Prime Minister pleaded for building a bridge in Vehari city which would greatly improve the flow of traffic between the two parts of the city which are at present subject to acute traffic jams.
The Prime Minister also approved the setting up of information technology campus in the area to get the people better familiar with the digital age and its immense potential in the job market.
