Karachi, August 28, 2016 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Shamim Mumtaz has said that medical social welfare officers will be posted at all large hospitals throughout the province for counselling of patients. She said this while visiting Rehabilitation Centre setup by social welfare department at Sindh Institute of Urology. Secretary social welfare Shariq Ahmed, political coordinator Rafia Abbassi and others accompanied her. Provincial minister went around various wards of Sindh institute of urology including children ward and inquired about the health of patients.
On the occasion, medical social welfare officer Fareeda Mazhar briefing the provincial minister told that children were imparted education in rehabilitation centre setup by social welfare department and added that technical skill classes for patients were also organized here. He added that patient were provided monetary assistant also. The social welfare department arranges exhibition for the items prepared by patients. “Gifts and books are also distributed among children “, she added. Besides, children wards and others wards were also decorated with paintings.
Provincial minister appreciated the role of rehabilitation centre and announced that medical social welfare officers will be posted in all large hospitals throughout province for the assistance and counselling of patients. She was of view that awareness regarding organ donation in the society was need of hour, in this regard, she vowed to launch an awareness campaign regarding organ donation.
She said that social welfare department will start awareness campaign in schools soon in first phase. On the Occasion, Minister also met with Dr. Adib- Ul -Hassan Rizvi and commended his services for humanity adding that patient were being provided best possible facilities at Sindh institute of urology.
