Media body resents authorities’ anti-media policy in IHK

Srinagar, January 09, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Press Association (JKPA) has resented the anti-media policy of the puppet administration and threatened the authorities with harsher steps if their grievances are not redressed on priority basis.

A spokesperson for the association in a media interview after the executive body meeting in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the considerable reduction of advertisement and non-clearance of pending bills.

The meeting, which was chaired by Ghulam Hassan Kallo observed that the authorities had adopted anti-media policy. The meeting was concerned about selective approach of the Information Department and observed that influential newspapers were being entertained in the territory since last 8 months.

The spokesman said that the executive body expressed anguish over this attitude and asked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to do away with this policy or else the Association would take meaningful and logical steps in this regard.
