Islamabad, March 27, 2017 (PPI-OT): Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Sheikh Anser Aziz has said that carpeting of all major and small roads of the city would be completed by utilizing own available resources so that development expenditures could be curtailed and path of self reliance could be followed. He expressed these views while inspecting ongoing road carpeting work in sector F-7. On this occasion Director Machinery Pool Organization (MPO) and other concerned officers were also present.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that work on road carpeting project is continued on fast pace. He said that road carpeting and patch work of different roads including constitution avenue, Pir Sohawa Road , G-8 Round about, parking of P, Q, R and S Secretariat Blocks, Prime Minister House, sector D-12, Jinnah Convention Centre, Diplomatic Enclave, Service Road (North) of Sector E-11, Soharwardy Road near front of Serena Hotel, Khayaban-e-Iqbal and other areas.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that foundation of self sustainability and effective utilization of available resources has been laid down in MCI and CDA. He said that when the charge of the affairs of CDA was given to elected representatives MPO Directorate was one of those formations which were considered to be burden on MCI and CDA.
However, acting on the policy of effective use of available resources, this formation has now been transformed to profit earning Directorate. He further added that steps are being taken to improve and strengthen the MPO Directorate so that maximum output could be obtained. He said that by adopting effective strategy and policies centred on self reliance, save sufficient funds have been saved which would be further utilized in other public welfare projects in the city. Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz directed to ensure superior quality in road carpeting work. He further directed the concerned officer to accelerate the pace of work.
