Islamabad, July 24, 2017 (PPI-OT):Development of state-of-the-art, durable and well planned road infrastructure in the city is prime and top priority of incumbent management of the authority. Projects are being initiated and completed by keeping in consideration their importance for the residents of the city. Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Anser Aziz said this while inaugurating Service Road (East) of sector E-11.
On this occasion, Deputy Mayors Syed Zeeshan Naqvi and Member Engineer Asad Mehboob Kiyani, elected chairmen of different union councils including Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan (Advocate), Raja Waheed, Farman Mughal, Chaudhary Allah Ditta, officers of MCI and CDA and general public from the area were also present.
Mayor of Islamabad said that the road has been constructed to provide easy and swift access to the newly opened sector particularly sector D-12 and sectors of C series. He said that development work in sector D-12 has been completed and now large numbers of allottees of the sector are constructing their houses due to which traffic burden in the area had increased. Construction of this road will help reduce traffic congestion due to increased traffic volume of sector E-11 and D-12. He further said that it will also provide direct approach to the sector D-12 and newly opened sectors C-14, C-15 and C-16 and would help complete development activities in these sectors.
On this occasion, Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Shiekh Anser Aziz was apprised that two (02) kilometers long Service Road East has been constructed with the cost amounting to Rs.112.00 million. He was informed that two (02) numbers box culverts have also been constructed in addition to the construction of stone masonry wall and metal guard rails. Similarly, installation of road signage, lane marking, pavement studs and curb stones have been done under this project.
While planting a plant sapling at the median strip of the newly constructed Service Road East, Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz directed the Environment Wing to plant shady and lush green indigenous species and to carry out fascinating landscaping. He said that according to the new SOPs environment work and development work on the project both would be carried out simultaneously so that projects could be completed in all respects.
