Master plan to control natural Climate needed: Governor Sindh

Karachi: Newly posted German Consul General in Karachi, Dr. Tilo Klinner called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan at Governor House on Monday.

Talking to the German CG, Dr Ebad said the government was trying to conceive a comprehensive master plan with the objective to minimize the losses in case of occurrence of any natural calamity, said a statement.

Dr Ebad said dangers of rain, flood and cyclones were increasing due to climatic changes and they had to redesign our drainage system on long-terms basis while the government has constituted a committee in this regard.

The committee is working on it and “we would have to utilize the skills and experiences of the international experts for the purpose”, he added. The Governor said Sindh has got potential to cope with the economic challenges.

He said some elements want to disturb law and order in Sindh to destabilize the province. he federal and provincial governments are determined to establish lasting peace in the province, particularly, in Karachi with the help of present setup to further promote democracy, Dr. Ebad added.

The Sindh Governor said that flood victims in Sindh are grateful to the people of Germany for their generous assistance.
