Karachi, August 14, 2015 (PPI-OT): Khalid Rahman, MD, SSGC has said that the Company is currently involved in implementing natural gas projects of strategic nature in order to reduce the widening demand-supply gap of this important fuel. The MD was addressing SSGC’s executives and staff at the Head Office building after leading the flag hoisting ceremony to mark Pakistan’s 69th birth anniversary.
Mr. Rahman said that the Company is one of the major players in ensuring the distribution of LNG into the country in order to reduce the shortfall. He added that the Company is working towards providing those sectors with natural gas that face major supply issues due to this widening gap and hoped that by the same time next year this objective will be achieved.
Mr. Rahman reiterated that SSGC is currently confronted with myriad challenges including Unaccounted for Gas (UFG) that has affected the Company’s financial bottom line. In order to take SSGC back on the road to prosperity, a concerted effort from every single employee is required, the MD stressed.
Earlier, at exactly 9.00 am, SSGC’s MD accompanied by Shoaib Warsi, DMD/COO, senior management, office bearers of Sui Southern Officers Association and CBA (Peoples Labour Union) and a large number of executives, hoisted the national flag at the Head Office podium and sang the national anthem in unison. On the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, all offices of SSGC wore a festive look and ceremonies were organized in a number of Company facilities. SSGC’s Head Office building illuminated with green lighting was a centre of attraction for on-lookers.
