Malik briefs Prime Minister on safe passage of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation supplies

Islamabad, July 04, 2012 (PPI-OT): Rehman Malik, senior Advisor on Interior, called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the PM House today and apprised him about the steps taken by the law enforcement agencies to ensure safe passage of NATO supplies en route to Afghanistan through Pakistani territory.

The Prime Minister, during the meeting, directed the Advisor on Interior to ensure, at the earliest, the machine readable passport facility to all oversees Pakistanis through our missions abroad.

The Prime Minister said that oversees Pakistanis were valuable asset who, besides sending billions of dollars in the form of remittances were also the country’s ambassadors in the foreign countries. They need to be facilitated in the best possible manner commensurating with their services for the country, the Prime Minister observed.
