Lahore: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Monday urged the Governor State Bank of Pakistan to take notice of the malfunctioning of online system of private banks that is causing undue damage to the businesses and the economy.
In a statement issued here, the LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that the online system of most of the banks remain offline in three to four days a week thus hampers the smooth working of businesses.
LCCI President said that the regular malfunctioning of the online system almost every week is creating the impression among the businessmen that it is a pre-planned methodology of the certain banks to build their deposits for short-time gains thus calls for an intervention by the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan.
He said that the LCCI had received a number of complaints from its members who informed that the delay in payments is causing delay in shipments and it should be redressed without any further delay.
